Pay at the Pump and the C-Store Business.
When you think of the petroleum industry in the merchant acquiring arena, you think of convenience stores. C-Stores are made up of both branded and non branded stores. Branded stores are those affiliated with major oil companies like Chevron®, Texaco®, ExxonMobil®, Amoco®, Shell®, Sinclair®, on the other hand unbranded stores are independent and not associated with any particular brand.

Unbranded store owners like the freedom of being independent and don’t like the pricing, funding, and policy restrictions that the major oil providers place over them. This steers them to becoming independent whereby they purchase their fuel from independent distributors and operate their stores as they choose. The non branded market has a great deal of opportunity. Non branded C-Stores are an ideal sales target, simply because they are not restricted from working with vendors of their own choice. C-Stores that are corporately owned and are branded are not an opportunity, as they are locked into their branded obligations.
